1/3 of our lives
Being my last quarter in class for college, I have started to count down the days till I am not here and have to leave SCAD this support system. With more and more projects coming to a end, I have realized that I have stayed in the SCAD buildings for way too long to perfect my craft. This has not only dull my feelings toward the city of Savannah, but also missing out from the time we use to rejuvenate ourselves.
The separation with the outside world has made me think about the value of time and how other people value /uses time.
As the average person have 2/3 of our lives occupied by sleep and work. Both takes up 8 hours a day, totalling in 16 hours. It leaves us with 8 hours, which really means we only have 1/3 of our lives that we leave to ourselves.
These hours that we have, are really the golden hours that we use to explore, develop and sustain ourselves. This idea intrigues me to really understand what people value with their use of time.
Through the documentation of this series. I have once again fallen in love with Savannah, GA. This city has not only help me grow as a person, but also supported me throughout my two years away from home. I can truly call it a home away from home.
I hope this series is not only just a documentation of how we value our time, but also my love letter to Savannah.
