Fort Myers and Hurricane Ian

On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian has developed itself into a category 4 hurricane and has path itself through Florida after hitting Cuba.

Hurricane Ian landed on Fort Myers which is one of the place that has suffer the most out from the Hurricane. Most Residents have evicted out of the town and moved up toward st Petersburg, but some stayed to ride the storm out. 

The Fort Myers beach became immobile for 2 days, with the bridge to and from the mainland  broken. Resident can only travel by water and air. The Hurricane has lead to flooding and damages to buildings and city-wide power outage, Lee County has reported 61 people has died from the hurricane and Florida was in state emergency.

As Hurricane Ian news develops, I was eager to understand the state of Fort Myers is in and the stories of residents who stayed. 

I was in Fort Myers both 2 days and 2 weeks after the hurricane landed. Capturing people, places and stories.
